Back in the day when i was trading tapes around the world if a recording i had did not fill a 60 or 90 min tape i would add some demo material i had on the end of it,so as i am transferring my tapes i am coming across these demo's so i thought i would share them with you...some of the bands you will know but others you may not be familiar with so i have put bands who i think they sound like as a comparison but don't take this as gospel because we will all have different opinions of who they sound like...enjoy ed

Ok time for something a bit different...for those of us of a certain age back in the day there was a weekly radio show on the bbc called the friday rock show which ran from the late 70's and through the 80's and old rockers like myself would tune in each week to hear the latest rock releases and old classics..also each week during the show they would have sessions from artists old and new and what i would do is record the full show and then during the week i would edit out what i did not want and keep the sessions or live recordings and then transfer them all to a separate cassette...(how anal was i back then???).unfortunately i would then throw the shows away....god i wish i had kept them all but thankfully there are still a few around and some can be found on the brilliant site   http://hearrockcity.blogspot.co.uk/    

anyway here is the vol #1 of the sessions i have kept over the years..they are in no particular order it's just as i come across them and transfer from tape to digital.each volume will go onto a 80min cdr for those who choose to do it....enjoy ed

Robin george is a top notch all round musician who surfaced in the early 80's and received great reviews from kerrang.sounds etc.my memories of him were a couple of gigs he did around london but i never recorded them...but thankfully a good friend of mine recorded this show from up in geordieland and sent it to me (i can't remember who he supported)...a very talented guy who i think is still going...enjoy ed

The mob rules  was definitely my favourite tour from sabbath with iommi playing amazing throughout the tour... i went to all four of the hammy shows but this was the only one i recorded...i have seen this show around before but i don't think it was my recording.enjoy ed

Another great melodic rock band that appeared during the early 80's then disappeared after releasing a great debut album (shaft of light) and getting a few support slots from major artists such as queen & meatloaf.i think they made a comeback a few years ago but for me '84 was their year....great show  enjoy ed

Back to the hammy o for 3 of the 4 night stint from bon jovi on the massive slippery when wet tour,for me this was their last great tour...i did go to see them again a couple of times after this tour but by then they were playing stadiums and i kind of lost interest even to the point when i hear one of his shows these days i think how lucky i was to of seen them back in the day when they were hungry.enjoy ed
